Following the school's outstanding inspection report in January 2013, the E.T.I Inspectorate concluded that the pupils in St. Caireall’s are able to apply numeracy skills across the curriculum, in a wide range of meaningful activities. Teachers continue to devise and implement tasks for using mathematics. Staff have compiled samples of various levels of progression in using mathematics. At the end of 2015 a new end of year assessment was introduced for standardised testing in mathematics, namely P.T.M. (Progress Test in Mathematics.)

In 2015/2016, St. Caireall’s school numeracy coordinator trained in Catch up Numeracy and this programme has been implemented in this school year.
